I know the idea of writing a testimonial for a product or service may seem a little intimidating or like you need to write a novel or give certain praise you may not feel comfortable doing, so I wanted to share some tips on how you can quickly share your experience easily and authentically.

First, I want to explain why testimonials are so important. As someone who has experience with a product or service, your first hand opinion is very impactful to others who may be interested in making an investment, but are still on the fence. Everyone has different personalities and things they absolutely need to know before they will make an investment at a certain level, and because of that getting the first hand experience of those who already said yes to an offer and put their money on the line, is powerful.

Think about why you said yes to the offer, what was a problem you were having at that time or desire you were feeling that lead you to make your purchase? Try to limit this to one or two key desires or problems you were looking to solve when you made your investment.

When I purchased/enrolled in  [ OFFER NAME ] I was looking for [ Desired Outcome or Solution to Problem X ].

Think about where you are now in relation to that desire or problem, what specifically has changed in your life since you made your purchase and began engaging with the product/service. Again, try to limit this to just one or two key changes.

After [ Timeframe ] I began to notice [ Specific change or result ] that made me feel [ Emotional reaction ]

Think about something that surprised or excited you about the offer, perhaps something you didn’t expect or something that exceeded your expectations.

I was particularly pleased with/that [ Surprise or exceeded expectation ]

Would you recommend this experience to others who were experiencing the same problems or desires you had been?

If you are someone looking for [ Desired Outcome or Solution to Problem X ] I would recommend you purchase  [ OFFER NAME ].

Finally, sign your testimonial with your name, however you would like to share it. First name, last initial is my preferred structure, but share what is comfortable with you!

Now, just put all this together. It just takes 2-3 sentences to write an impactful testimonial that gives good information to others looking to make a purchase. Remember, you aren’t writing the testimonial for the business owner, you are writing it for potential future customers. So, keep focused on your experience, what moved you to purchase and how making that investment ended up helping you reach a desired outcome. You may think your specific experience isn’t valuable, but it is! If you were drawn to an offer for a specific reason, odds are others are as well and your opinion could be the tipping point for why they say yes to an experience that has the ability to help them reach their desired outcomes as well!
